There was another thread where he suggested that LFS was a mind control technique Scawen was using on all of us, but I can't find that one.

Do you mean this?

I wouldn't say perfect, aspect ratio is wrong, but thanks .

Quote from Fischfix :the ramps do not have any friction. its like you are driving on ice. you can drive with 5 km/h on the ramp and not accelerate but you will slide along the whole ramp.

the autocross-objects are far away from finished (like the barrier bug).

i also think lfs needs to add a bit more of gravity to the whole game. but thats just my impression from driving my car compared to this game.

Autocross could be a very strong point of LFS if there were less bugs in the autox related parts. Probably Scawen will fix these issues before S2 full, or in S2 full.

Bit more gravity? This is not rFactor where they fudge values until it feels remotely right. Gravity should be exactly as strong as it's on Earth and it's the simplest thing to get right. If anybody wants to make a simulation which simulates cars racing on Earth they can't just change gravity to suit their needs. I presume you have "exported" a car from LFS to real life and you also have a full motion sim and of course you measured every force and every driving input before you posted your impression about the gravity in LFS. I am not saying LFS is perfect, far from it, but changing gravity won't solve anything.

Quote from Homeless_Drunk :I'm not going to spend hours digging though 2 forums to find 1 image...I just remember it was during the time that the first sneak peeks of the open wheeled cars were released by the LFS team. I'm not asking you to believe me...I just remember what I saw and what I read...

Quote from Paranoid Android :I do remember this picture a bit, and the conclusion was that the impression was due to some bug. The wing was underground or something like that...

I remember a discussion about something like this but I certainly don't remember any official screenshots and announcements about falling parts. But of course I could be wrong as everyone else.

Quote from Homeless_Drunk :no, I'm pretty sure that the image was hosted @ lfs.net. I wouldn't of brought it up if I was unsure about it...I remember there being a pretty lengthy thread about it too...do yourself a favor and stop being so smug about everything...

Please, could you provide more details? We don't have such picture and teaser at the official news archive at LFS.net, show us the thread you are talking about at RSC and we will beleive you.

Quote from AndroidXP :Guess what, hardware drawing of sub objects was implemented in the last test patch...

Yes, and that means it will be possible to break off wings in a future incompatible patch, probably before S2 full.

Quote from Cue-Ball :Can you give some examples? The only thing I can think of which we've been promised (or even hinted at getting) is the GTR interiors. I don't recall seeing any screenshots with breakable cars and I certainly don't recall Scawen ever making any indication that we would see anything like that in S2. I would love to be proven wrong.

What needs to be fixed for S2 to be "complete" to you?

See Scawen's post:

But I don't think he released any screenshots...

Quote from dougie-lampkin :Hell, I average 150 FPS with a 9800 PRO, all settings maxed

That card is almost 5 years old

There's a buy it now one on Ebay for €30

Could you tell me how the hell you manage to get avarage 150 FPS with a 9800 Pro, all settings maxed? By all settings I mean max LOD at LFS everywhere, multiplayer speedup at off, 6X AA, 16XAF, high res skins, High Quality AF, texture and mipmap driver settings. I had a 9800 pro for 2,5 years, now I have a X1650Pro(I know it's not a very fast card) but I can easily bring down my FPS to 15 with these settings at 1440x900 screen resolution. Personally I can't see how it is possible to have 150 FPS avarage unless you use extremely low resolution and hacked drivers, like Omega which turns down quality like hell.

Quote from SamH :Scawen, the mouse is still bound by the limits of the screen even when you're making movies and it's invisible. I use 2 monitors and all too often in the process of lifting, moving, and repressing the mouse cursor to move the view further (happens a lot because I record at low resolution), I keep clicking accidentally in the other monitor. LFS minimises and the recording is wasted.

I've mentioned it before as a sort of improvement suggestion but I may as well also highlight it as a bug report, because the "mouse clipped to screen" feature doesn't stop the cursor at the edge of the screen with my dual-monitor setup, at all.

I use two monitors too, and here "mouse clipped to screen" stops the mouse at the sides until I use Alt-Tab or windows key it works correcty if I use Shift-F4. After that I have to switch it off and on again to work.

Quote from Fischfix :i play this game now since 2005 and all i can say is, this bug has been mentioned and discussed since then.

in the last 3 years there were many bugs-fixes and updates to the game but this MAJOR bug has not been fixed. i only see two real reason why:
1)´its not possible to fix this bug due to the way of lfs is calculating collision at the moment. this will mean, the collision model has to be rewritten and i do not see this is going to happen until S3 is going to happen (which will not happen in the next 5 years) as we are still in S2 alpha!

2) the devs did miss this bug-report for the past 3 years OR did not think this is important to the community the past 3 years

if someone has an other idea why this bug still exists please post, i do not really have another reason for it

Scawen said it's on his to do list, it will get fixed. I think probably before S2 final.

Quote from Forbin :O RLY?

Codemasters made ONE decent car game: 1nsane. No one should be surprised when they make crap. It's what they do best.

It was not Codemasters who made Insane decent, they just published it, Invictus made the game decent. I hope they'll make a game just as good as Insane in the near future.

Quote from -V-Max- :I noticed he also got the 'move view with animation option on' and he's steering slightly more in the 'female' screen. This makes the difference even bigger, I'm sure the difference wouldn't be so big when the steer would be centererd.

Yes, the shot was made when my team mate was steering but this didn't affect it much, try it yourself, switch to the female player model and you'll see the difference.

I think I found a small bug, but I'm not sure. In an online race when I switch to an other car the view is not the same as mine. See screenshots(the second picture shows my car).

The standalone version is working fine here.
I have some suggestions for the graphs. When you zoom in, the cursor just goes out at the side of the screen. Could you make a switch that switches between three modes?
The three modes would be like in Adobe Premiere Pro(but maybe renamed ).

Auto-scrolling mode:

No scroll
Same as now.

Page Scroll
As the cursor goes out at the side of the screen it switches to the
next "page".

Smooth Scroll

It follows the cursor and centers it on the screen.

Also it would be good if we could move the horizontal side of the graphs to make them bigger or smaller relative to each other and it would be fantastic if we could make presets of the configuration (added graphs, settings, etc..) of the Hotlap Analyser. These presets would be saved on LFSWorld on our account and we could switch between them in the Analyser.

I hope my ideas are worth considering.

Thank you for your great work!

Quote from Gener_AL (UK) :Aha .. I had suspicion it was somthing along those lines, just thought odd as only happens after machine has been rebooted and its first thing loaded into adress bar.

Anyways was just thinking ....is it/would it possible to output temps of the tyres for IHA ?

Would be quite infomative to see where tyres take most punishment/wear.

You can see tyre temps at the wheel view window.
